Flattery will get me nowhere!

About 2 mths ago, I found a pair of blue Converse One Stars on clearance and bought them for James, in anticipation of him shredding his current pair of sneakers.  Sure enough, he didn't let me down, and his previous pair are falling to pieces.  For some reason, until they got to that point, he was VERY reluctant to even try on the Chucks.  This weekend, however, he got dressed, and he came to me with a little smirk on his face, and asked me to help him put them on.  I was so happy, and I said, "James!  I love these, I'm so glad you're wearing them!!".  He replied, "Mommy, if you tell me I look cool, I'm taking them off".  Uh.. wow.. okaaaay then.  I told him they looked quite nice, and off we went.

Of course, now he's smitten with them and has worn them every day.
