So I've mentioned before my serious sympathy for the teachers at school who have recently struck out about 100% of the time when it comes to persuading my son to nap. At best, we can hope he plays or reads quietly during naptime since he darned sure won't NAP. To-date, here's what else he does during naptime:
- Colored his toenails with marker
- Colored his blanket and sheet with marker
- Touched his friends ( I guess he wanted some company since he was awake)
- Got his head stuck in a trash can lid
What's that?!?!, you say? Yes, that last one was yesterday, and just the icing on the cake! Either he's got some other kid performing diversion techniques, or he's just a fast / sneaky little booger, because somehow, during naptime, he made it over to the trashcan, took the lid off, and
put it on his head to be funny (note to self: check out this trashcan lid today.. did it really look that inviting?). Well, it wasn't funny when it got STUCK. He freaked out. His teacher came over to help, couldn't get it off right away, and SHE freaked out. The other teacher pointed out that he looked a bit like a spaceman, and that calmed him down long enough for them to get it off his head.
Does this happen to anyone else? Is there something different we should be doing, or we just appreciate how creative he is? ... because I think his creativity might give me premature gray hair.
